The reactivation of the province’s port system makes it possible to expand the region’s export activity, through the opening of new markets for URCEL Argentina SA. The first shipment to India will take place in August, with shipments of pine wood logs and will be added to China as a continuity of destination for these products, where 24 ships and more than 600 thousand tons have already shipped. Similarly, progress is being made in incorporating sawn wood in table format for export to the Asian country, adding added value
ENTRE RÍOS (7/7/2020) .- The Entre Ríos Minister of Production, Juan José Bahillo, held a teleconference this week with the participation of Carlos Schepens, president of the Provincial Port Institute, Robert Rosa, president of the Urcel exporting company Argentina, Adrián Micheletto, general manager of the same company, and Pablo Gómez, benchmark of port logistics for the entire region, and confirmed the new scenario of market opening to China, adding added value to exports, with the burden of a product forest that will be processed in different sawmills in the region.
During the meeting, the incorporation of the Indian market for the reception of entrerriana production that will leave from the port terminals of Concepción del Uruguay and Ibicuy was confirmed, with the first shipment scheduled for August
“The productive development plan of the province has one of its strategic pillars in ports. The Provincial Government continues to support this growth and aims to provide all the conditions that Entre Ríos producers need to be more competitive and gain new markets, all from our own ports and generating more and better work for entrerrianos “, detailed Bahillo.
Robert Rosa, president of the company Urcel Argentina S.A., remarked that “we have been making steady progress since we started working in Entre Ríos, since November 2018 when we made the first shipment of wood to China. We have already carried 24 ships and more than 600 thousand tons exported from Concepción del Uruguay and Ibicuy, and we have always had the support of the Government of Entre Ríos. Now we are in a position to add a very important new market such as India, it is a further step forward on a path that still has a lot to develop and that will continue adding new products to export ”, highlighted the businessman.
Urcel Argentina S.A., is a business conglomerate with extensive experience in the forestry industry and port logistics. She was initially responsible for opening the Chinese market to the export of pine wood logs for the manufacture of furniture, formwork boards and winding for boards, among other uses.
The new export to China of sawn wood in Entre Ríos will be one of the salient points of the next meetings, since it is expected that in the coming months the contracts with Chinese companies interested in receiving this product will be closed, providing an outlet for much of the forest production that today has no fixed external markets.
“A new market and new products for the entrerriana export means more port movement, bigger logistical chains and an increasingly important number of people involved. The provincial government adds infrastructure and steps for producers to obtain better conditions to market their production worldwide, this is growth, development and better prospects for comprehensive growth, “said Carlos Schepens regarding the incorporation of India as a buyer of products from Entre Ríos.
